Frequently Asked Questions: Reusable Workflows
Common questions about converting text and TXT files to Excel.
How are data transformation workflows saved without a user account?
Workflows are persisted directly inside your browser's local IndexedDB storage repository. Your transformation recipes remain saved on your computer between browser sessions without needing an account, login, or database server.
Do locally saved workflows sync between my office PC and home laptop?
No. Because TextToTable is 100% client-side and does not upload your recipes or data to a remote cloud server, recipes exist only on the device and browser where you created them. You can duplicate or re-create recipes on any machine freely.
Can I customize the order of transformation steps?
Yes. You can reorder pipeline steps using the up and down arrow controls. This allows you to control whether whitespace trimming happens before date standardization or header normalization.
What types of transformations can be automated in a recipe?
Recipes support whitespace trimming, header normalization, duplicate row removal, blank row/column elimination, date ISO standardization (YYYY-MM-DD), leading zero padding (e.g. SKU/ZIP codes), and text case conversions.
Is there any limit on how many rows or recipes I can run?
No artificial software limits are imposed. All data processing executes using your local computer processor and memory, easily handling tens of thousands of rows in milliseconds.
